The butternut pumpkin (or butternut squash) is also called pear squash because of its shape and is one of the butternut squashes.
It is available in sizes from 400 g to 2 kg. It has its origins in America, but now it is also grown in other, rather warmer areas such as Spain or southern Europe.
The peel of the butternut squash is slightly yellowish and studded or smooth. The inside is from light green to orange.
